OFFICER’S CORNER

Tom Brunker thanks all the people who helped and attended the scavenger hunt at Neshaminy Park.  Twenty-six people attended the hunt.  1st Place winner of the scavenger hunt was Russ Balliett.  2nd Place went to John Dwyer.  3rd Place was awarded to Al Meier, and 4th Place went to Betty Sullivan.  After all the expenses were paid, the Club made a profit of $187.34.  Here is a direct quote from our President, Tom Brunker:

“I would like to take the time to thank all the people who came out to the Mid-Jersey Scavenger Hunt at Neshaminy Park.  To Maria Brunker, Jack and Lyn Mount, Bill and Pat Kollien and Betty Sullivan for helping me put this together and making it work.  I would like to thank the members of the South Jersey and Lancaster Clubs for their support.  It helped make it a fun day.  We had 26 people and gave away $325.00 in cash prizes.  We also had a 4 oz. Silver bar raffle, 3 silver dollar raffles and a 50/50 raffle.  Everyone hunted hard, despite the weather, and came back with some nice treasure and a lot of trash to show the park ranger.  Thanks again to all of you who helped me make it a

good day.”  Tom Brunker (Huntmaster).

GREAT NEWS

Tom Bagnas located a new meeting hall for us.  It is the Senior Center in Yardville located in Switlik Park, just off of Broad Street.  There is no charge to use their facilities and we can continue to hold our meetings on the 2nd Sunday of each month.  Tom Brunker and Jack Mount are going to check it out and if all goes well, we will have our first meeting there in August.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to Tom Bagnas.

INTERESTING THINGS OUR CLUB MEMBERS ARE DOING

Russ Balliet went to the “Antiques Roadshow,” which was held in Atlantic City.  Russ brought an antique fireman’s uniform and it appraised at $1,500.  Russ said it was a very interesting experience and a lot of people attended with their “treasures.”

Tom Bagnas announced that there would be a ham radio show on the last Saturday and Sunday of June at Mercer County Park.  (Sorry this date probably already passed by the time you got this Newsletter, but maybe Tom can let us know how it was at our next meeting.)

The South Jersey Club is holding a raffle for a 10 oz. Silver bar.  Tickets cost $2.00 for one or 3 tickets for $5.00.  Lets give them our support by purchasing a ticket or two.
